13.1

So today I had the chance to complete my first half marathon. I ran in the Houston Aramco Half Marathon in downtown Houston. There were so many people who signed up to run. It's CRAZY!!

Several people kept asking me, "So, what is your goal?". So....as the week approached I came up with three goals for the race.
#1 Don't get hurt. (I was REALLY paranoid about falling down for some reason.)
#2 Finish the race. (without walking)
#3 Finish in under 2 hours.

I am proud to say that I met all three of my goals!! Here are some pictures from the day!

Family photo after finishing the race!!
Thank you Nicole for being such an encouragement while running. You made the race go by so much faster!

After checking the website, I finished in 1 hour 54 minutes and 47 seconds with an average pace of 8:45 a mile. I am very pleased with my first half! Now... I'm thinking about another one.

Happy 8 Months Birthday Jack

Today Jack turned 8 months old. I am loving being off work to spend more time with him. It makes me realize how much time I am not with him when I am working. Maybe one of these days... :)

Here are pictures of Jack with his sock monkey!

I know you guys probably can't see... but there are 3 teeth coming in on top.
Jack makes the funniest faces sometimes.
Thank you Dixie and Pops for the Sock Monkey Ornament! We had to take it off the tree for Jack to play with for his 8 months pictures.
Sucking in that bottom lip like always.
Such a ham!

What Jack is up to these days:
  • Sitting up like a champ
  • Trying to eat puffs (he would rather play with them)
  • Experimenting with a sippy cup
  • Scooting on his bottom (not very far, but enough to get what he wants)
  • Jack has pulled up twice to standing position.
  • Reaching for his parents
  • Crying when you take something away from him
  • Talking to strangers especially other kiddos and dogs (no stranger anxiety YET)
  • Grinding his teeth <-- hurts Momma's ears!! (he now has 5 teeth- 2 on the bottom and 3 on the top)
  • Bouncing and jumping every chance he gets
  • He loves making noise... whether it is by talking/singing/screaming or by banging on his toys... he loves to hear different sounds, especially if he is the one making them.

Christmas in Greenville

Jack and I left Houston for Waco on Friday to pick up Aunt Holly. We then drove to Greenville to see family. Since we have several family members who live there, we were running around from place to place to see everyone. It's always a short trip, but I'm glad we were able to go. Here are some pictures from our visit.

Jack and I with Gam.

Jack and My Grandma :)

Jack does not care for the camera anymore.

After visiting with Gam, we headed over to my Daddy's house to visit him and his family. Here is Jack and his Grandaddy.
Jack and Nana with his new toy.

Jack and Aunt Tori.

Daddy and me. We were supporting John with our outfits. :)

After Daddy's, we headed over to my Grandparents house. Here is Jack and my Grandad.
Jack and his Grandmommy playing on the floor.

When then tried to take pictures with Santa hats. Jack wanted the ball on my hat. Once again he was NOT interested in taking pictures.
On Sunday, we headed back to Daddy's house. If you only knew what it took to get Daddy to smile for pictures.

Nana and Jack again.

SISTERS!! I love her so much!

Visiting Santa

So John and I took Jack to Bass Pro Shops to see Santa. However... I am NOT very smart and FORGOT THE CAMERA!! We got our free print from Bass Pro Shops and John was able to snap this photo using his phone. Next year... I WILL remember!!
