Happy 10 Months Birthday Jack!

So.... I'm a LITTLE late on Jack's 10 month birthday blog (which was last Tuesday) and WAY behind on updating the blog. Please forgive. My excuse... LIFE! :)

Once again, taking Sock Monkey pictures with Jack is becoming quite the challenge. He does not care to sit still at all. He is constantly on the go... and it is a blast! :)

What Jack is up to these days:
  • Standing every chance he gets
  • While standing, he will pick up different objects. Then he purposely drops them just to squat down to pick them up again. SILLY BOY!!
  • Cruising- He is walking along the couch in the TV room.
  • Crawling over things... where Jack then nose dives into the floor.
  • Talking all the time- dada... mama... nana... gaga... lala... baba, etc.
  • Eating big people food. He had mexican food for the first time this month. Refried beans with some rice and tortillas! YUMMY!
  • Throwing his toys, just to go and pick them up.
  • LOVES DOGS!! He loves watching our dogs from the window. At the sitter he constantly chases her dog, who could care less about him.
  • Finally mastering the sippy cup on his own. It took us FOREVER to find one he likes. Thank you Gerber!
  • Still giving kisses and hugs. But now he will give them without you asking for them. SWEET BOY!!!
  • Taking two naps a day still.
  • Loves being outside. We can't wait for warmer weather!! Or rather.. CONSISTENT warmer weather.
  • I know there is more... but I am hearing "Mama.. nana... mama... nana" and tapping on my leg right now. Time to rescue the Jack Attack. :)

Happy 9 Months Birthday Jack

WOW! I cannot believe that in just a few months, Jack will be a year old! Everyday he is learning to do something new. It's such an amazing thing to watch and be a part of. :) Soooo... taking the sock monkey pictures was quite the challenge this time around, now that Jack has learned to crawl. It took us two different times yesterday to get some pictures taken.

Round 1-

See ya later Sock Monkey!

"But I don't want to sit still for the pictures!!"
"FINE! I'll sit, but I won't smile!"

Round 2- Lunch consumed and his afternoon nap complete...

Enough pictures!! Time to play!
This is a picture we took about a week or so ago! I just thought I would add it in because it's such a great picture of my boys!

What Jack is up to these days:

  • Crawling EVERYWHERE! He has a "Kick Stand Crawl" as his Daddy likes to call it. See this video to see what I mean.
  • Pulling himself to standing on EVERYTHING! John lowered his matress as low as it will go.
  • Mastered tummy to sitting position.
  • Feeding himself crunchies and biter biscuits (he doesn't put much else in his mouth besides his fingers and his bottle-- lately though, he's been trying out some of his toys)
  • Biting his Momma!! He has bitten me SEVERAL times and IT HURTS!
  • Tolerating eating meats. Doesn't really care for them right now.
  • LOVES fruit!
  • Talking more and more (I swear he said, "Momma" the other day. :) Maybe wishful thinking) He can say "Dada" like no other!
  • Discovered how to open the cabinets in the kitchen. TIME FOR LOCKS!!
  • Still LOVES the remotes. I really want to buy him a universal remote just for him. But I'm sure he will still want ours.
  • Jack is now drinking formula. Switched from breastmilk to formula with no problem at all.
  • Finally found a sippy cup he will actually drink from. Still doesn't drink from it that much. We will keep trying!!
  • Jack has 6 teeth now. 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. He has another one on the bottom trying to come in.
  • Mimics his Momma and Daddy.
  • Loves playing with doors.
  • Jack is dancing now! It's sooo stinking cute!
  • My favorite thing of all that he is doing right now is... GIVING KISSES!!

13.1

So today I had the chance to complete my first half marathon. I ran in the Houston Aramco Half Marathon in downtown Houston. There were so many people who signed up to run. It's CRAZY!!

Several people kept asking me, "So, what is your goal?". So....as the week approached I came up with three goals for the race.
#1 Don't get hurt. (I was REALLY paranoid about falling down for some reason.)
#2 Finish the race. (without walking)
#3 Finish in under 2 hours.

I am proud to say that I met all three of my goals!! Here are some pictures from the day!

Family photo after finishing the race!!
Thank you Nicole for being such an encouragement while running. You made the race go by so much faster!

After checking the website, I finished in 1 hour 54 minutes and 47 seconds with an average pace of 8:45 a mile. I am very pleased with my first half! Now... I'm thinking about another one.
