Faces of Jack

Every day Jack's personality is emerging stronger and stronger. Here are just a few pictures of the many faces Jack makes. :)

I'm not so sure what I think about these carrots. (We are starting peas tonight.)

Happy boy Jack after one of his naps.

I like sucking in my bottom lip.

Jack has the eye roll down.

This is the "I'm going to eat your face" face.
In other news...

Jack is beginning to sit up on his own. He can sit up for quite some time without falling over. When he does fall over, he's not sure what to do. He usually just squirms around and plays. He is starting to try and sit back up, but he's just not sure how. It's really neat to see him develop. Before we know it, he will be crawling around and pulling himself up. I'm not ready for that!

Taking a break from my soccer ball to read (using my 'reading finger')!! :)

Jam Packed Weekend

This has been a busy and fun weekend for the Suchecki family! It started out by Jack and I heading to Grandpa and GG's house on Friday. We hung out with them, Uncle Jim and Aunt Kuohui who came down from Midland to visit. On Saturday Jack, Grandpa, GG, and I went to pick up John from his fire station at 6:30 in the morning. From there we drove downtown to get ready to run the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K. It was A LOT of fun! It was absolutely crazy how many people were there. Thank you to our friends and family who helped me raise $275 in donations. This is definitely something I want to participate in again.

Grandpa, me, John and Jack before the race.
We haven't taken a picture together in a while.

Check out Jack's onesie! John made it just for the race! (Sidenote: see how Jack is sucking on his bottom lip... he is doing this all the time now)

Another family picture before the race.

Just a small number of the people there.

After the race, John, Jack and I headed home to shower and relax for a bit. After showers and naps, Jack and I went to Logan's 1st birthday party. Here is the birthday boy with his parents and his AWESOME cake!!

Mommas and their babies! (these three boys are all around 1 month apart from each other.)
John did not go to the birthday party with us. He went back to his parents house to watch the Tech game and get ready for another party. Grandpa's 60 1/2 birthday party! Joe's birthday is actually in April. But April was a busy month. Jack was born! :) Jim and Kuohui were planning and getting ready for the wedding in May.

If I remember correctly, his cake actually said "Happy 60 1/2 Birthday Joe!

Jack with his Aunt Kuohui and Uncle Jim.

Today was another big day for Jack. Jack has been eating cereal for a couple of weeks now. He loves it and is getting the hang of eating from a spoon. We have less and less on our face after every feeding. John and I talked about it and said we would start Jack on veggies around 5 months. Well 5 months came along and we didn't start. Another week went by and we talked about it, but still didn't start him on them. Honestly, I was a little nervous about it, so I was putting it off. Well today, almost 2 weeks later than planned, Jack had veggies for the first time. And he LOVES green beans!! He couldn't get enough. I imagined the first time Jack eating veggies we would have it EVERYWHERE. Here is a picture of Jack AFTER eating his green beans. There's hardly anything on his face! He's becoming such a BIG boy!!

Happy 5 Months Birthday Jack (A Day Late)

Jack turned 5 months old yesterday!! Here are some of the pictures with his sock monkey!!

What Jack is up to these days:
  • eating rice cereal 3 times a day(at meal times)
  • gaining weight (not sure how much since we don't have a dr. appt this month; but the double chin proves that he is gaining weight) :)
  • sitting with support... he is getting stronger every day though; (he face plants at times)
  • drank juice for the first time on Tuesday after getting a little stopped up :P (he prefers grape juice over apple)
  • still laughing and talking like crazy
  • still loves to stand up (getting more sturdy!)
  • wearing 3-6 months clothes; size 2 diapers (sleeping in 2-3)
  • grabbing for everything in his reach (including momma's hair-- OUCH!!!)
  • loves spending most of the days with his Daddy-- Momma is still jealous!
  • visiting Momma at work and bringing her lunch
  • cradle cap is FINALLY gone
  • Jack's hair is finally starting to grow back.
Sometime this month we plan on starting the veggies with the Jack Attack. We will see how that goes!! :)

I also have some videos I want to post. However, I can't ever get them posted on here. It takes forever and they never actually load. Any advice?!?!? For my Facebook friends, I am trying to load the videos to Facebook to see if it is any faster.

Labor Day is my new favorite holiday! :)

That's right! I've decided that Labor is my new favorite holiday! Why? You ask. Well... let's see. First off... I didn't have to work today. But for other reasons...

John and I had just planned to hang out and relax this weekend. John ended up going Dove hunting Saturday morning and had a firefighter get together that afternoon/evening. Jack and I had a Jack and Momma day! We just hung out... went grocery shopping... then more hanging out and relaxing. Sunday, my favorite sister/sibling/roomie/bestie and her boo, Tyler said they were coming to visit and stay the night since she had Labor day off. It was looking like a great 3 day weekend!!

So Sunday rolls around. I get up and get my run in, so I don't have to do it while Holly and Tyler are here. I get home and clean up around the house a bit, shower, etc. Holly and Tyler show up around lunch time. We are just hanging out, feeding the sweet boy Jack... and I hear someone at the door. I figure it is John since he had left to go workout at the Y. It was about the time he should be getting back. Holly and I were finishing up feeding Jack his cereal, so I asked Tyler if he would go check the door. The nice person Tyler is goes and checks the door. He comes back and says, "Kari, it's not John." At this point, I am confused. I was wondering who in the world is here. We did just get new neighbors. I look and walks in this man...

My DADDY DO HEAD!!! He rode his motorcycle down from Greenville to visit. Apparently he called John about a week and half ago telling him that he wanted to come and surprise me. He planned to come before Holly did. I had been whining about how much I missed him and how I needed to spend some time with him. I had the biggest smile on my face! Definitely a GREAT SURPRISE!!! :)

Tyler, Holly and Jack.
Holly is going to hate me for putting up these pictures. But I love my sister!!

Sisters!!

Jack in his bouncer thingy(I'm not sure what it's called) for the first time. He liked it for a few minutes. We will have to try it again soon.

Playing with his Aunt Holly.

Here are more pictures from the weekend.

Quick and Much Needed Update

Sorry family, friends, and blog stalkers out there. I have been SUPER busy since school started back. I have made the choice not to update the blog when I did have time. I used that time to play with Jack instead. Going back to work was harder than I thought it would be. I am beginning to adjust to the schedule, but I am soaking up every moment I have with the Jack Attack. The only reason I am able to update now is because Jack is asleep for the night.

When John is working, Jack is spending time with Mrs. Kristi who he absolutely loves! It's a good feeling when I drop him off at her house before work. He is always smiling at her and he loves her son too!

More updates on Jack.
He is growing and developing like crazy. At the doctor, he weighed 12 lbs 3 oz, putting him in the 5th percentile. We have a small baby!! He sleeps around 9-10 hours a night and naps around 4-5 hours a day... Sometimes less... just depends on what we have going that day. If we are running lots of errands, he doesn't sleep as much.

Here are the most recent pictures we have of the Attack.

We recently started Jack on rice cereal after his 4 month dr appt. He LOVES IT!! Of course most of it ends up on his face and bib. But he is swallowing some of it. :)

Here's a picture of Jack eating rice cereal for the first time.

Jack LOVES standing up. Any chance he gets, he will try to stand up. He's so proud of himself.

Jack ready for his spa treatment.

Just enjoying some tummy time with his infamous caterpillar.

Happy boy Jack just playing in his bed.
